It is with great excitement that we welcome the Fellowship of Catholic University Students to Eastern Michigan University! St. John the Baptist will be hosting four missionaries for the 2015 - 2016 school year.
Recognizing the dire need for Catholic campus outreach and inspired by Pope John Paul II’s call to a “new evangelization”, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students was founded in 1998. Just fourteen years since its launch, FOCUS has grown from four missionaries serving one campus to over 300 missionaries serving 74 campuses in 30 states across the nation. Today, FOCUS continues to encourage young men and women to develop and invest in their relationships with Jesus and to go out and share the Good News, transforming the culture for Christ.
The aim of the FOCUS missionaries on EMU's campus will be to invite college students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of Christ-centered evangelization, discipleship, and friendship in which they lead others to do the same. The missionaries will be leading weekly bible studies, hosting large group outreach events, and spending one-on-one time with students.
Please join us in welcoming our missionaries with great love, and lifting them and the campus of Eastern Michigan University up in prayer.
